Fall and Winter class schedule is out!

Fall is here!  I love this time of year . . . leaves changing colors, the jeans and sweaters come out of storage, there is a tid-bit of a chill to the air . . . I LOVE IT!  It also means less time spent in the garden and more in front of a sewing machine!  I hope you had a chance to check out some of the classes we are offering this fall/winter . . . if not, here they are!!!


Winter Wonderland Table Runner

Join Kristen Bender, a Certified Judy Niemeyer Instructor who will make this class fun and informative. Learn the unique paper piecing technique that will leave you with a great looking project. This great 1-day class will get you going to complete your runner in no time. Join us for the day to sew and learn from this inspiring teacher. Stop in to see the sample and get your supply list.

Professional Tote


This is a great bag to make for a “woman-on-the-go.” You have the option to make the larger origional size, or the smaller version. Large size can hold a standard size laptop, and the smaller size will hold the iPad or Nook. Stop in to see samples of this great project and choose your fabric. This is a great bag to complete in-class, as we keep you on task and will be completing the bag by the 2nd day. During the 1st class, we will cut and prepare our fabric to sew. Then return on Saturday to begin the bag assembly. Stop in or call to get your supply list.

Fat Quarter Friday | All Fat Quarters $2.25
Stock up on all fat quarters the 1st Friday of each month. This includes only fat quarters that we have pre-cut.

Long Arm Certification Class
Learn to use the long arm machine and finish your own quilts. Take the one-on-one class with Michelle, then you are able to rent the machine and use on your own! We provide a practice quilt for your certification class.

Bridget’s Bagettes

Do zippers scare you? Join us to make this cute and easy bag. The pattern comes with three different sizes. It is a great way to use up some of your scraps. You just need a zipper and some clear vinyl. It has an easy edge finish, and NO binding! Once you have made one, you will not want to stop. Call or stop by for the supply list and to see our samples.

Arm Knitting Scarf

Join us to learn how to knit a scarf using only your arms. In just a few hours, you can complete your scarf. If you are an avid or novice knitter, it is easy and fun. Stop in to see our great sample and get a supply list.

Binding Class
This class will teach you the correct way to cut, join, press and sew your binding on to make that great looking miltered corner. We have a few special tools and tricks that will help you every time. Bring in your own project or ask for one of our donation pieces!

UFO Weekend-Mini RetreatJoin us for a weekend of sewing all those UFO’s. Plan to come early and stay late to complete as many projects as you would like. Sew away from the distractions, but sleep in your own bed. Make a dent in those unfi nished quilts that you want to get to “someday.”  If you have any problem or can’t figure something out, we will be there to help you. Need a new project? We have several to choose from here. We will provide the noon and evening meals, as well as snacks to keep you well nourished and energized for completing projects. Bring your own beverages. Grab a friend and make a weekend out of it!

Pocket Full of Rulers Bag

Come join us to make this great bag to hold your mat and rulers. It works great for carrying all of your supplies going to and from class or retreats. Come with fabric cut and ready to sew. Stop in to see the sample and get your supply list. It can be a great way to use up some of your scrap stash!

Basic SewingDid you just purchase a sewing machine? Or has it been a long time since you have used one? This class is for you! We will go over the basics of stitching, threading, winding bobbins, sewing with the correct seam allowance, and terminology of sewing and quilting. We will also learn how to properly read and follow patterns. Bring your own machine to class. We will make a small project together in class.
Dates: Oct. 16th  Time: 1-4pm

Self-Binding Baby BlanketLearn how to make this easy, self-binding baby blanket. In just a few hours, you will have a cute and easy blanket perfect for a gift! Make one, and you will want to make several more!

It's getting colder out . . . time to start some new projects!

Where has the year gone?  November 2nd . . . already!  But, the upside is that with the cooler temperatures it means there is more time for sewing.  Check out what is new in the shop!

First up we have been getting some really bright, fun kids prints in!  This is the Monkey Mischief line from Henry Glass.  There is a Counting Monkey fabric book that goes with the line also!

The Fishy, Fishy Quilt is adorable.  The colors are fun and can be for a little girl or boy.  Might want to stock up a couple of these to have ready for gifts!

This is the last fun kids fabric I will show you . . . you'll have to come in to see the rest of them!  This is an adorable flannel from Timeless Treasure.  It makes an quick, simple blanket by adding either minky or a different flannel print.  So fun and bright!

The Christmas corner is being added to frequently.  You will be decorating in less then a month . . . are you ready?!?!?!  We have some great wall hangings, fabrics, and patterns for gifts for everyone on your list!

For the outdoorsy people in your life we have some new panels from REALTREE.  We also have the Boundary Waters Flannel line from Moda. 

You can take a class to make the Mini Professional Tote!  You cut your fabric on Thursday, November 14th from 1-3:30 or 6-8 then come back to sew it all together on Saturday, November 16 from 9-5.  It is only $40 and includes the pattern!  Grab some friends and come learn something new . . . it also has zippers in it, so if you have been avoiding them now is your chance to tackle it!  Stop in to sign up.

Last, but not least we have the adorable O' Christmas Tree Wall Hanging.  The grey and red are great together and will fit in with most everyone's holiday decorations.  There are kits available, but hurry in because these will be going fast!
