It's getting colder out . . . time to start some new projects!

Where has the year gone?  November 2nd . . . already!  But, the upside is that with the cooler temperatures it means there is more time for sewing.  Check out what is new in the shop!

First up we have been getting some really bright, fun kids prints in!  This is the Monkey Mischief line from Henry Glass.  There is a Counting Monkey fabric book that goes with the line also!

The Fishy, Fishy Quilt is adorable.  The colors are fun and can be for a little girl or boy.  Might want to stock up a couple of these to have ready for gifts!

This is the last fun kids fabric I will show you . . . you'll have to come in to see the rest of them!  This is an adorable flannel from Timeless Treasure.  It makes an quick, simple blanket by adding either minky or a different flannel print.  So fun and bright!

The Christmas corner is being added to frequently.  You will be decorating in less then a month . . . are you ready?!?!?!  We have some great wall hangings, fabrics, and patterns for gifts for everyone on your list!

For the outdoorsy people in your life we have some new panels from REALTREE.  We also have the Boundary Waters Flannel line from Moda. 

You can take a class to make the Mini Professional Tote!  You cut your fabric on Thursday, November 14th from 1-3:30 or 6-8 then come back to sew it all together on Saturday, November 16 from 9-5.  It is only $40 and includes the pattern!  Grab some friends and come learn something new . . . it also has zippers in it, so if you have been avoiding them now is your chance to tackle it!  Stop in to sign up.

Last, but not least we have the adorable O' Christmas Tree Wall Hanging.  The grey and red are great together and will fit in with most everyone's holiday decorations.  There are kits available, but hurry in because these will be going fast!

Fat Quarter Fridays are Back!

Join the fun in choosing and stocking up on fat quarters the 1st Friday of each month.  This includes any fat quarter in the store that are already cut.

Join the Groovy Girls Club!
We meet the 1st Saturday of the month (October, November and December). If you love Atkinson Design patterns, then you will love this club!  6 of her newest patterns will be fatured.  Join us anytime between 10-12 on the following Saturdays: October 6, November 3, December 1.  We will be doing 2 different demos on teh featured patterns of the month.  You will get a free hand out, refreshements, make and take projects, 109% off any of the demo patterns or accessories. Machine Quilting

Learn the basic machine quilting techniques. We will learn to stitch in the ditch and simple free hand meandering.  You will need your machine with a walking foot. There are machines available to use if you do not have one. Bring your own small project to practice on.

Time: 1:00 – 3:30  OR  evening session  6:30 - 8:30

Binding Class

Learn how to put a binding on your quilt. We will teach you how cut, join, press and sew your binding on to make that great looking mitered corner. Bring is your own project, or ask for one of our donations quilts for you to bind.

Scrap Therapy Cutting Session
Shake out the dust and replace your rotary cutter blade!  Take the first step to organizeation wit hthe Cutting Workshop. Bush up on fast and efficient fabric cutting techniques. Get your heap of expensive scraps under control. Saved time, space and money are lurking in your stash! Come to the cutting class and get organized so you will be ready for the Scrap Therapy Quilt Project Class in November!

Professional Tote

 

This is a great bag to make for the woman on the go.  It can double as a diaper bag, or just a great bag to keep all your stuff in.  Stop in to see the samples and choose your fabric.  This is a great bag to do in a class, as we keep you on task and get the many steps in order for you without getting confused. 1^st class we will cut and prepare our fabric to sew.  Then return on Sat and begin to put together the bag. Stop in to pick up supply list and pattern.

E-Tablet/Nook Cover
This class will teach you how to make a cover for your Nook, Kindle, or I-Pad.  Template makes marking and sewing easy as pie.  After seeing how easy it is, you will want to make one for each day of the week!  Makes great gifts!  You will complete it in one session!

Basic Sewing
Learn or refresh yourself on using a sewing machine. This class will go over the basics of stitching, threading, winding bobbins, sewing with correct seam allowance and terminology of sewing and quilting. We will also go over how to follow and read patterns. Bring your own machine to class.

Diaper Class

If you are wanting to try cloth diapers, this is the class for you!  Lear to make the adjustable "one size fits all" diaper and see how easy it is to make them.  Theses are not like the "old" cloth diapers. Stop in to see our samples and all the cute fabric to choose from.  Free pattern with a class sign up! Bring a beverage, pizza and salad will be included with class fee.

Machine Applique Class
Learn the basic machine applique tecniques to make your projects go much faster!  We will show you some great tricks to get your projects to lay flat and look great. Bring your own machine and project, or choose from one of our small applique projects.  Great for gift giving!

Scrap Therapy Quilt Project Class
Bring in your organized scraps that you cut in our cutting workshop and let's get started on the project! There will be 2 quilts or small projects for you to choose from. Let us help yhou arrange them and start your project. Cutting workshop is a prerequiste for this class.
Dates: Wednesday, November 14 or Saturday, November 17
Time: 12-5
Fee $15



Apple Core Quilt
Learn how easy it is to make the Apple Core Quilt!  Stop in and see our samples.  Use the small or large ruler, make the size that works best for you.  Pattern is included with the ruler. Bring a beverage for lunch.  Pizza and salad is included in the fee.

Long Arm Certificaiton Classes
Learn to use the long arm machine and finish your own quilts on it. Take the one on one class and then you are able to rent out the machine. We will give you a practice quilt to give a try and learn how to use.
